The Rhayader by Nature book (Softback) is now available for purchase.
The book has been written by members of Rhayader by Nature, who are knowledgeable specialists in their own particular fields of natural history. There are introductory chapters on local habitats, geology and climate and a chapter each about the plants, birds, mammals, fish, reptiles and amphibians, butterflies & moths, dragonflies and other invertebrates that make up the rich wildlife heritage of Rhayader and its surrounding districts. The 260 page softback book is illustrated with many wonderful photographs taken by local enthusiasts and also includes suggestions and directions for walks and places to go to see wildlife.
The book is 17.5x 24.5cm and has 250 pages (1.5cm thick) and weighs around 750gms.
Section 1 details the landscape, farming, weather and geology. The main section details every group from birds to plants, fish to dragonflies etc. There is a section on walks, a few maps and of course an introduction by Iolo Williams. basically a guide and marker to the wildlife found within the Rhayader area.
