Painted Ladies

A walk up to the summit of Trembyd, Llanwrthwl this evening found a few Painted lady butterflies. Also lots of moths – mostly the bracken loving Brown silver lines. In 1 1/2 hours I also saw a lot of the birds that Mid Wales is known for at this time of year. Spotted and Pied flycatchers, Redstart, Tree Pipits, Wood Warblers, Cuckoo, Whinchats, Stonechats, Yellowhammers (6 pairs), Skylarks, Meadow Pipits, Red Kite, Buzzards, Reed Buntings, Redpolls and lots of Willow Warblers.
