10 Yellowhammers are feeding in the garden at Craig Llyn at the moment (1030 on 23rd Feb), perhaps attracted by new young wheat I have added to the seed mix. I saw a linnet here yesterday, and a brambling and reed buntings as well as yellowhammers are regular visitors these days.
Meanwhile, we have a healthy and active population of frogs in the ponds, though no sign yet of fertilised frog spawn. Pipistrelles were out flying last evening, and a barn owl has been calling close to the house several times during recent nights, as well as the usual tawnies.
