Fabulous common blue, female butterfly around our ‘fox and cubs’ plant. The first we have seen here in nine years.

Never had one down here (only Holly Blue) – will keep a look out. I went to Cors y Llyn at Newbridge on Wye on wednesday – there were at least 75 common blues in the meadow (an amazing sight) along with small coppers and a single gatekeeper – my first record locally. Also lots of dragonflies and 25 lizards basking on the boardwalk. Outside the study area but well worth a trip!
Sounds like an amazing trip – must get over there!!!
