A walk up to the roadhead at Ty Segur, Llanwrthwl this afternoon in the warm. The first time temperatures have risen into double figures up there probably since last september! Despite this, the pastures near the end of the tarmac, on the right – in the lee of gamrhiw, are full of flowers. Breconshires ‘county plant’ – cuckooflower, was everywhere. Lots of cotton grass in a boggy corner, and best of all a nice group of Mountain pansy sheltering next to the field boundary. Cuckoo and yellowhammer sang nearby.
